HDHP

How do I know if I have a High Deductible Health Plan?

We recommend you look up how much your deductible is and compare it with these limits. If your deductible is as high as the below limit, then you have a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP).

The minimum annual deductible limits for HDHPs are: Single $1,250 or more Family $2,500 or more and

The minimum annual deductible out-of-pocket expense amounts for HDHPs are: Single $3,300 or more Family $6,550 or more

Example: Peter is single and filing his tax return but isn't sure he has a High DeductibleHealth Plan. He went online to check his deductible amount and it turns out it's $1,750.That means he's got a High Deductible Plan since he's over the $1,250 amount defined by the IRS as being a high deductible, so he'd answer Yes to this question.
